We see a great number of patients complaining of problems in their hip, knee or shoulder. They are often initially confused when we start discussing the spine. This is because a subluxation in the spine can still lead to problems in the peripheral joints. Misalignments in the spine, lead to misalignments in peripheral joints. Joint surfaces are no longer working in their best position. These misalignments also alter the muscle efficiency as they are no longer pulling along the most efficient line of force. These misalignments may cause neural interference, leading to poor muscle behaviour. This will lead to strain and uneven wear and tear.Even traumatic episodes can have their roots in subluxation. A misaligned spine is no longer able to absorb and dissipate forces nearly as efficiently as a healthy spine.A common everyday fall or bump can suddenly cause pain when it never used to. A low speed vehicle accident leaves you in agony, and the rugby players crashing into one another weekly for years suddenly ending in pain from a minor scrum injury. Our evaluation looks at the injury, but also investigates the underlying cause of that injury.
•Uneven shoulders lead to strain through misaligned shoulder movements •Uneven hips lead to uneven weight bearing resulting in uneven wearing of joints, pain and degeneration
Still Subluxation?
A painful knee, hip or shoulder can still
be due to subluxation.
